Your senior session should feel like you
The clothing you wear for senior photos should be able to make you feel comfortable and at your best. These photos are to capture who you are at this moment in your life and the best way to do that is by choosing clothing that feels true to you.
Let's talk about an underrated outfit choice: Jeans! So often "what to wear" lists say no to jeans. This seems so crazy to me because they are comfy and can make you feel so confident in what you are wearing. The majority of my seniors choose to wear jeans for at least one of their outfits. We live in Montana; jeans are a staple in many people's closets, so it makes sense to wear them for your senior photos because it's what you like to wear. They are also pair so well with other items, such as a cozy sweater, a nice white tee or a good flannel!
(P.S. I wore jeans for my senior photos, so if you want to wear them, go for it!)
What shouldn't you wear for your senior photos?
I am never going to be the person who that tells my seniors that there is one piece of clothing that they cannot wear. If you love jeans, wear them! If you are a tennis shoes person, wear them! These photos about you, not some Pinterest board.
The only thing you shouldn't wear? Anything you are not confident in. This could be because the clothing doesn't fit you the way you want it to, the style just isn't you, or the color is not something you would put in your closet. If you absolutely hate wearing dresses, then a dress isn't the right choice for you because you won't be ready to show off your best self in your photos.
Senior photos should be all about making you look good. And to look good, you need to feel good!
