The Funny Thing about memory
The Funny Thing About Memory is my returning to the places that have shaped my childhood and young adult years. My grandparents’ homes have been the only continuous places throughout my life. Taken on Polaroid film to help mimic the feeling of memories: fleeting, imperfect, intimate. These places have been paired with reflections on this significance and how they have transformed through time. By documenting these spaces and my connection to them, I explore nostalgia and the way spaces evolve while still holding on to past history. This work is both a homecoming and a letting go of how these spaces of transformed while honoring what has stayed the same.
